With blogging turning into a profession of late, it makes sense to optimize your blog instead of plainly adding content and expecting search engines to crawl your site..

That way, it does make sense if your website has established meta tags for every new post, proper keyword filled URL instead of date in your URL and Page Title alone instead of the Blog name in every post.
